Fragrance can represent a mixture
Fragrance or parfum may describe a mixture of scent ingredients rather than one individual substance. This does not automatically mean a product is harmful. It does mean the label can provide less detail than it does for individually listed ingredients.
People with reactions need a higher standard
Someone who has experienced a rash, breathing difficulty, eye irritation or another reaction after using a product should stop using it and seek appropriate medical guidance. Do not rely on an app alone for a suspected allergy or reaction.
Read the complete package
Look for use instructions, warnings and the full ingredient list. Fragrance-free and unscented are not always interchangeable terms, so check the actual package.
