What HealthLogic uses
HealthLogic organizes available barcode, ingredient-list, nutrition and product information to make labels easier to understand. When available, the learning center links to primary public sources such as the FDA, EPA, NIH and HHS.
What a barcode can help identify
A barcode can connect to available product information and may help identify a package, brand or ingredient list. HealthLogic can explain listed ingredients, compare products and organize information around personal preferences, allergies and wellness goals.
What a barcode cannot prove
A barcode cannot laboratory-test food, beauty products or pet products. It cannot verify pesticide residues, heavy metals, bacteria, undeclared ingredients, current manufacturing conditions or whether a specific person will have a reaction.
How we handle uncertainty
HealthLogic separates a listed ingredient from an unverified concern. We use clear source links, explain limitations and avoid treating an unfamiliar ingredient name as proof that a product is harmful. Health and safety decisions can depend on exposure, dose, age, allergies, medical history and other factors.
Corrections and updates
Products, labels, recalls and public guidance can change. If you find a possible correction, use the HealthLogic support page so the information can be reviewed and updated when appropriate.
